GFS Ensemble 500mb Height Anomaly 10/28-11/4

Unfortunately, we haven’t seen much change in the pattern heading toward the end of the month and early November, yielding not-so-great news in terms of snowmaking opportunities. While tropics aren’t very active, there are still a couple areas of interest that have popped up in the past week. We’re also still seeing lingering overall global patterns of the moderate La NiƱa that’s been settled in for the last couple seasons.

Small bursts of cold may continue to emerge through the next 2 weeks, but they’ll be fleeting and short-lived. It may take until the first full week of November (the 7-11th) for a more consistent colder pattern to set up and move into the East.
