Not much cold to talk about this week, but some of the cooler overnights have really started to peak the foliage in the higher elevations. We hiked Rumford Whitecap this weekend, which is right next to Black Mountain ski area in Maine.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be rather warm before a cold front comes through. The front is rather moisture-starved, therefore you won’t notice much fanfare with it; possibly an isolated shower. Temperatures gradually cool into the weekend, but it’s not until a front comes through Saturday evening (with showers) that we really start to see some cold pushes. The tropics have quieted down, so this should allow some cold air to actually move in. There are two disturbances being monitored by the National Hurricane Center on each side of the Lesser Antilles, but those are expected to be swept out by passing cold fronts. Any shifts in those movements or intensities could impact the depth and length of cold pushes.

Will update later in the week on advancing cold pushes, and on Friday with our long term views.
