GFS, Saturday morning 10/24

We’re not seeing much exciting cold (if any, really) to come in this week, as expected. We have tropical systems continuing to blossom in the Atlantic basin and with that, we won’t have much cold around, let alone settling into the area.

Our good news remains the amount of rain coming back into the area, which is making a big difference on our watershed.

We’re watching a system in the Atlantic from the Oct 22-25 time frame; that keeps us cold-free. Notice the cold is kept in the northern Plains as the system in the Atlantic keeps it from moving east to the Great Lakes and New England.

Another low will move down the jet stream early next week and that is one to watch for potential cold air to come in behind. However, there are signs that the tropics are not shutting down going into the first few days of November. Obviously this is not good news for us as we’ll continue to see our cold pushes be minimal, short-lived, or non-existent.
